Community Service

Jr. Helenes

I started Jr. Helenes in the beginning of 9th grade and I am currently involved in this afterschool club." It is the mission of the USC Helenes to support the University community. As the 'official hostesses of USC,' we will strengthen the Trojan Family through acts of volunteerism, hospitality and service. United in sisterhood, the women of Helenes will honor tradition, rise to contemporary challenges and strive to build a vibrant future for our organization and for our University." Luckily they decided to expand their group to our high school. This gave us the oppertunity to really take part in our community around us and really help the less fortunate. I'm really glad I decided to join the Helene's

24th Street Theatre

I have been involved with 24th Street Theatre for more than two years now. However, it wasn’t until last year that I fully committed myself to volunteering at 24th Street. Part of my duties at the theatre include, mentoring children. Honestly my experience mentoring is life changing. Growing up I always enjoyed taking care of children younger than me. I also have been in love with the art of theatre since I was in third grade. So volunteering at 24th St. is a dream come true. Another part of my duties at the theatre is availing my self to help out at community engaging events. One of the most popular events I participate in is "Dia De Los Muertos" also known as "the day of the dead". In this event, that I have now participated in two years in a row, I am in charge of painting faces. All my services at 24th St. are liberating and full of no regrets.
